November 2008 Newsletter - Subject of the Month
“And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.”[Isaiah 58:11]
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” [John 16:13]
“You can't guide yourself. There's two ways: that's your way and God's way. And when you're in your way, you're out of God's way. And you have to forget your own way to find God's way. And man cannot lead himself. We're likened to sheep. If there's anybody around here knows anything about raising sheep, when a sheep gets lost, it's perfectly helpless. It'll just stand and bleat till it dies. That's all. It's helpless.” [Moses, Houston TX, 50-0110]
“Now, what a fatal thing it is to reject the leadership to Eternal Life, because, see, that's Life that never can end. Now, the education, that's fine, that'll help us here. Business, that's fine. Money, that's fine. Be a good boy and girl, that's fine. But, you see, when life is finished here, that's all. See, that's all. But then we've got to accept Jesus Christ, for Eternal Life. Jesus alone can lead you to That. And though, see, this young man had achieved all these things in school, and by his parents and everything, he--he lost the greatest thing that he could have had, the leadership of the Holy Spirit, for Jesus said, "Come, follow Me." [Leadership, Prescott AZ, 65-1031A]
“You are not right until you are borned again. You're not mentally right until you have been borned again. A man is not in his right condition until he's borned again. He's a beast at heart, until he has been borned of the Spirit of God, and the spirit of nature is taken out of him, and the Spirit of God takes It's place to rule. That leads him and guides him into all truth and light. That's right. And if a man does not do that, knowing without that he's hell bound, there's something wrong with his mind. Why, doesn't the people receive it?” [Why, Phoenix AZ, 60-0309]
“Then, if you--if you take Him as your North Star, then that absolutely places the Holy Spirit your Compass. Amen. The Holy Spirit is your Compass, and the Compass will only point to the North Star. And if you've got the baptism of the Holy Ghost, it can only point to Christ, and Christ is the Word. That's the way to find your way back. See? Now, Christ being the North Star, and the Compass always points that way. And if you are really saved, really, the only way you can be saved is through Christ. And the Holy Spirit, being your Compass, will guide you right straight to the Word. See what I mean? Now, that's wonderful! And the Word and Christ is One. "In the beginning," Saint John 1, "was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us." If He is your North Star, then He becomes your Absolute.” [An Absolute, Phoenix AZ, 63-0127]
“That's why I know the Holy Spirit is my Compass that guides me. He is the One that makes me know this Word is true; He is my Absolute; He is my Sunshine; He's my Life; He's my Anchor. When troubles are on, He's my North Star. When I'm lost, the Holy Spirit is my Compass that guides me back to the place. Denominations are like other stars; they shift with the world. Other stars shift as the world shifts, but not the North Star. The world can shift where it wants to, but it stays put. Oh, brother. The North Star is anchored. The others shift around; you can see them here and there, and everywhere else. That's the way with the denominational churches. But Christ is the absolute. He's the One you can put confidence in. When the denominations got you all twisted up, just look at the North Star. The Holy Spirit is your Compass.” [Absolute, Jeffersonville In, 62-1230M]
“But when it comes to know the holiness and righteousness and the power of God, and how the Holy Spirit operates and what It does, you better stay right behind the Word, the Guide. See? You've never passed this way before. Well, you say, "I was a pretty smart man; I had--I had two degrees in college." You better forget it. Yes, sir. "I've went through the seminary." You better forget it. Yeah. You better stay behind the Guide and let Him lead you. He knows the way; you don't. You haven't passed this way before. "Well," you say, "They have." See if they have. Jesus said, "Those that passed this way, these signs will follow them. My Name, they shall cast out devils, speak with new tongues; or take up serpents or drink deadly things, it won't harm. If they lay their hands on the sick, they shall recover." Most of them refuse It, deny It, say It's not even inspired. They're not following the Guide. They're following a man-made creed. You better stay right behind the Word, because you haven't passed this way, you know. [A Guide, Jeffersonville IN, 62-1014E]
“You're a star. Every Christian is a star to guide the lost, to guide the weary, the foot of the traveler, to those who are seeking. Then the star cannot be guided by itself; it must be led by the Spirit. It must reflect the brilliancy of God in its life to abstain from the things of the world and to live godly and soberly in this present life. It must reflect the Light of its great One that shined. What are we to do then? To rise, and shine the Light of God to the dying. In depth darkness of this world, we are to reflect and shine the Presence of the Lord Jesus in His resurrecting power. As He is yesterday, so is He today, to reflect Him.” [The Great Shining Light, Jeffersonville IN, 57-1222]
“And here we are, right everything right at the door, and people still following after creed. You better stay behind the Word. The Word will lead you across, because the Word is Christ, and Christ is God, and God is the Holy Ghost. Stay behind the Word. Oh, yes, sir. Stay with that Guide. Stay right behind It. Don't get in front of It; you stay behind It. Let It lead you; don't you lead It. You let It go. Joshua said, "Now, you've never passed this way before, you know nothing about the road." [A Guide, Jeffersonville IN, 62-1014E]
“He'll guide you through all the muddy waters there is to go through, all the dangerous shoals, and all the high places, and low places. Wherever it is, He will guide me over death's river. Amen. Oh, yes, sir. He'll guide. "When death comes I'll fear no evil for Thou art with me. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I'll fear no evil; Thou art there." "If I make my bed in hell," David said, "there He is. Oh, if I take the wings of the morning, fly away, there He is. He's always before me, so I'll not be moved.” [The Influence Of Another, Jeffersonville IN, 62-1013]
